Pictures and thousands of words

A picture tells a thousand words, goes the saying. It’s catchy saying. We all know it and we all strive to put it to use.

During a presentation a speaker showed a slide featuring a tiny picture in the middle of a sea of text. He looked at the slide and then he said: "you probably do not see well this picture, but it is a fractal showing patterns ... this is a metaphor for our approach ..."

Recently, I heard another speaker saying while pointing to a projected picture: "This is our system. I was afraid you will not be able to see it. Actually, I was afraid that I will not be able to see it. Anyway, you can find the picture in the proceedings ..."

Your picture can tell a thousands words, but for it to happen the audience must be able to see it. If your picture is not large enough, it will ask you to tell the thousand words.
